Tater and Gem have been sniffing around for the best things to do this week, and the Valley is leaning hard into late-summer-into-early-fall mode: sunny days in the upper 70s to low 80s, cooler nights, and a slight shower/storm chance midweek before a sunnier weekend — perfect picnic-blanket weather if you peek at the sky before you lock in outdoor plans.

Here are a few fun picks worth adding to your calendar.

The Vibe: Boise’s funkiest free arts-and-music weekend — 200+ local vendors, food and beverage tents, Main Stage + Community Stage + Dome entertainment, and Sockeye’s limited-edition Hyde Park Streetfest Ale for 21+. Set in Camel’s Back Park in the historic North End since 1979. Walk-in free.

The Vibe: A weekend of jazz, blues, Americana, and community stages across Eagle — free kickoff and market sets plus ticketed evening shows. Support local music education (Fly Like an Eagle / Jazz Academy).

The Vibe: Outdoor adventure theater under the Warm Springs sky — daring feats, romance, and a Marion who steals the show. Season runs September 4–27; this Wed–Tue window still has plenty of nights left, including Family Night Sunday.

If you’re only picking one thing this week, make it Hyde Park Street Fair.

Three days, free entry, 200+ vendors, stages of local music, food tents, and Camel’s Back Park at its busiest-best. New neighbors: this is the North End Neighborhood Association’s big annual fundraiser weekend — plan alternative transport, and give yourself time to wander.

Why Gem likes it: It works for toddlers in strollers, teens hunting stickers, and grandparents hunting crafts — same park, same free walk-in.

If your usual date night is dinner and then scrolling for something to do, this is your upgrade. Free entry, long tables, polka, brats, stein games, and a 6:00 PM “Boise’s Largest Cheers” countdown both nights. Dress the part if you want — lederhosen and dirndls welcome — or just show up hungry.
